Special Covid-19 Message

Aston Park Health Care Center is closely monitoring the developing COVID-19 virus outbreak. The Safety and well-being of our residents and staff are our utmost concern at this time. We sat down as a team on March 3, 2020 in a round table event reviewing and updating our “All Hazard Plan” involving a Pandemic Event, or infectious disease breakout in our community. As a result, our team has responded to all recommendations of the CDC, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, NC State Department of Health and Human Services, State Emergency Management and many other agencies that have come together to disseminate recommendations and support for skilled nursing facilities. We are continually staying abreast of changes from these agencies and adhering to their recommendations.

In response to these recommendations, we are not allowing any visitors at Aston Park Health Care Center. We may allow limited visits for compassionate care reasons, such as end-of-life situations. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis. We will actively screen anyone who must visit for this purpose, as we are currently screening all individuals, including staff and essential providers before allowing them to enter the facility. Protective measures will continue to be followed for all individuals entering the building. We are only allowing essential staff and providers in the building, limiting any outside appointments for our residents to only essential appointments and not allowing any volunteers or communal group activities. We have increased our cleaning and disinfecting to more frequent disinfecting of hard surfaces, doorknobs, handrails, as well as, stressing the need for frequent hand hygiene for everyone.

We understand that connecting with your loved ones is incredibly important. There are a variety of other ways to consider communicating including telephone, email, text, video chat or social media. We are happy to facilitate these methods of communication. Pease contact our Activities Department at 828-253-4437 Ext. 317 if you would like assistance in using these alternative communication methods.

We appreciate your cooperation during this time and your adherence to all the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, and the World Health Organization, as we will continue to seek guidance from these agencies, public health officials and government agencies. If we all work together and follow all their recommendations, we can beat this unfortunate crisis, and all get back to normal. We are dedicated to taking care of our Aston Park Community and appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you
